Hii, this is Lora Cruse. I’m a passionate songwriter turning life into music. My music is shaped by real life — real pain, real love, and real experiences. Becoming a mother at nineteen changed the direction of my life. Responsibility came before dreams, but it also planted the strength that defines who I am today.
Songwriting became my way to heal, to leave a legacy for my children and grandchildren, and to connect with others who’ve felt the same struggles. Every song you hear here carries a piece of my story — and maybe a piece of yours too.

My Story
I became a momma at nineteen years old—too young, in my eyes, with dreams still ahead of me and a purpose I hadn’t yet found. I grew up in a home shaped by hardship, loss, and survival. My momma tried with everything she had to keep peace, often sacrificing herself to protect her children. Loss came early, and grief followed me through much of my life, shaping who I became long before I understood it.
Moving to a small town in Owensboro, Kentucky brought both anger and comfort—anger at the world, but comfort in being close to family. Life carried me forward quickly, and I found myself in relationships that taught me hard lessons about control, endurance, and self-worth. Through it all, motherhood became my anchor.
Motherhood, Strength & Survival
My three children—two girls and a son—are the greatest loves of my life. They carried me through my darkest moments and gave meaning to every struggle I endured. No matter how hard life became, I knew surviving was worth it for them.
I stayed in school, even when it wasn’t easy. Eventually, I found freedom and stability, and my children began to thrive. Just when life seemed to settle, my health changed everything. A brain defect altered my path and forced me to slow down in ways I never expected. Every day became a fight—but also a reminder of how strong I truly am.
Why I Write Songs
Songwriting became my way to heal, to process, and to leave something lasting behind. What began as writing for my children and six grandbabies turned into something bigger when they encouraged me to share my words with the world. They believed my story could help others—and I listened.
Today, I write songs rooted in truth. Songs about love, loss, addiction, endurance, and hope. I don’t write to impress—I write to connect. Every song comes from real life, real pain, and real love. This music is my legacy, my voice, and my way of keeping memories alive.
